I'm excited to greet you as NorthPointe Resources Executive Director.
I welcome the opportunity to meet all of you in the months ahead and encourage you to contribute your insight, resources and efforts as we work together to ensure that NorthPointe is the best place to support individuals with disabilities.
A little about myself; I have over 20 years experience in the non-profit field, having executive responsibilities with agencies that focused largely on meeting program and service needs for children, adults and seniors. For the last eight years I have been working in northern Cook County at an agency similar to NorthPointe. I reside in Lake County with my family.
What attracted me to NorthPointe was the level of care given to the individuals served by NorthPointe and the dedication of the staff. NorthPointe is truly committed to providing the best care possible for individuals with developmental and mental disabilities and individuals with mental illness. Unfortunately, at this time, along with other Illinois social service agencies, we are facing a series of funding cuts. And like everyone else, we are also facing issues of a weak economy with higher transportation and food cost and slow down of corporate giving. These are rough waters and we must band together if we are to steer to calmer waters through the destructive waves.
As we continue to rally round NorthPointe's mission of 'Empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their dreams', we need your help! With your support, our voice is loud, we become a force to be reckoned with as we talk to legislators, find other sources of funding and help increase contributions.
I thank you in advance for stepping forward. Each one of you serves as a catalyst for NorthPointe as it continues to provide programs and services for our communities.
