Super Bowl Bears Help Northpointe Raise $207,000

Northpointe hosted its 10th Annual Golf Classic with special guests, members of the 1985 Chicago Bears Champion Team. The signage, compliments of Dahlstrom Display, greeted the golfers with the feel of a PGA tournament.
Two-hundred twenty golfers participated in the sold out event at Glen Flora, on August 29th, a day with perfect weather for golf. Super Bowl Champs, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Steve McMichael, Emery Moorehead, Jim Morrissey, & Otis Wilson in addition to former Chicago Bears, Glen Kozlowski, James Thornton, Tom Waddle, James “Big Cat” Williams and hockey greats, Denis Savard & Eddie Olczyk teamed up with event sponsors for a sensational round of golf. When the sport celebrities weren’t attempting a hole-in-one they were busy autographing footballs, pucks and jerseys donated by Impact Sales.
The unbelievable success of this event was made possible through the generosity of the 2005 sponsors. The 10th Anniversary Event Sponsors were: Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Coca-Cola, Dole Fresh Vegetables, Frito Lay, Kraft, Langers, Nestle Waters-Ice Mountain and Pepsi. Platinum Sponsors were: Advantage Sales & Marketing and Walgreens. Gold Sponsors were: Arm & Hammer, Fresh Express, Kellogg’s and Old Orchard Brands. To pay tribute to a dynamic friend of Northpointe, the outing was renamed the Doug Cygan Northpointe Golf Classic for 2005. Doug was part of the founding golf classic committee and served on Northpointe’s Board of Directors for ten years, in addition to chairing various committees over the years. Northpointe was fortunate to have “head coach” Susan Thomas back as chairperson for the fifth year. Susan’s leadership backed up by the “starting line-up” committee members, John Amato, John Carpenter, Doug Cygan, Diana Gornik, Al Hill, Carolyn Lammersfeld, Bob Musick, Jackie Musick, Dave Scheffler, Dee Dee Schiller, and Sean Thomas, made for a winning event!
